4. Remove the Screws. Once the battery is disconnected, you will need to locate the two screws that hold the throttle position sensor in place. Remove these screws and carefully remove the throttle position sensor from the engine. Once it is out, you will need to clean it with some carburetor cleaner or a degreaser.
Disconnect the battery: Disconnect the negative terminal (black) on the battery. Make sure to wrap it in a towel so it doesn’t touch anything metal and create a spark. Remove the fuel filter: Locate the fuel filter, which is typically located along the fuel line under the vehicle, near the driver’s side.
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2004 1.8 TDCI (100) - gearbox problems?. When the car has been sat on the drive overnight and I come to use it in the morning I have difficulty engaging gear, forwards or reverse (the gear lever is very stiff to operate). It only happens when the car has been stood overnight.
1. replace one injector (No.3) but all reaserch shows that the others will go as well 2. Replace all 4 injectors 3. Used reconditioned Injectors - Although these could all be from the crappy siemens batch that is faulty to start with and nearly the same price as new 4.
Hi everyone, Yes Ford fixed the problem by replacing 2 looms. The glow plug loom was replaced and also the main loom the joins off the plastic block where the glow plug loom joins. The total cost was around 500 quid. From memory the glow plug loom is like 20 quid but the main one was a couple of hundred.
ProAuto.

dsimcoe. Hi Guys!! For the last 6 months I have been having a slight 'judder' in my engine. This happens between 1,500 rpm and 2,000 rpm and only once the car has warmed up to its optimum 90degree temperature. the feel and the sound is like before you are about to stall or haven't given enough power when pulling away.
